Please note

Two games, one world.

Trailmarks on PC and Mac is built around an interactive 3D globe you spin and route across. Trailmarks on iPhone is a separate game, built natively for the phone as a swipe-based card game with no globe. They share a world, a cast and an art style; they are not the same product and neither is a port of the other. Each is a separate purchase.

Trailmarks

PC & Mac

A singleplayer, globe-spanning trivia quiz adventure inspired by Carmen Sandiego and Backpacker I & II. You are dropped in a strange city with empty pockets, and your only way forward is what you know: answer trivia to scrape together bus fare to the next city, then the next, then somehow cross the Pacific.

Spin a living 3D globe of 1,200 real cities and travel by air, boat, bus or train, each with its own costs and routes. Trade regional souvenirs to get ahead, keep your morale from bottoming out, and satisfy the odd mission for Martha back at HQ. A network of ten eccentric handlers, from Professor Okafor to Chef Isabella to the nature-obsessed AI DARWIN-7, hold the visas that unlock the rest of the world.

Trailmarks

iPhone 4 September 2026
App Store description

Trivia and travel across 1,000+ real cities with 99,000 quiz questions. Answer well, travel far. Plays entirely offline with no ads and no account.

Trailmarks is a travel trivia game built on the real world. You answer true-or-false questions about the city you're in, collect the rewards, and put them toward a ticket out. Where you can go depends on what you can afford, what the departure board offers, and how much risk you want to take.

Your score is the kilometers behind you when you run out of nerve or mood. A run usually fits one sitting, though a good one keeps going, and you can put it down and come back whenever.

1,000+ cities, real routes

São Paulo, Berlin, Nuuk, Kismaayo. Flights on the departure board are routes that actually exist, and trains run where there are tracks. Crossing an ocean means finding a port and a boat, or saving up for the airfare.

99,000 local questions

Every city has its own true/false deck covering local history, food and culture. The questions are about the place you're standing in, so you end up learning niche local facts whether you intended to or not.

When to move on

Each departure is its own decision. A bus is cheap but always depletes your mood. Flights vary with distance. Trains and boats mostly leave you better off than when you boarded, but come at a price. Weigh that against the fare, against how much a city is still worth to you, and against whether you'll ever get this particular route offered again. Staying is usually fine while the trivia is going your way, but a difficult run of topics is a good reason to take the first bus out. Turning down a departure isn't free either, since every declined ticket costs you a little mood.

Streaks

Consecutive correct answers raise your payouts and lower your ticket prices. Get one wrong and prices climb back up.

Unlockable starting cities

Singapore gives you a hub with departures in every direction. Master it and harder openings unlock. Nuuk has one flight out and a handful of sea routes, which is a very different problem to solve.

Your route, mapped

Swipe right at any point to see your journey drawn across the world map in real time.

Offline and private

Every city, route, question and image is stored on the device.

  • No connection required, so it works mid-flight, where it belongs
  • No ads, no tracking, no analytics
  • No account to create

Note: City artwork is AI-generated. Every city in the game is a real place.

Built natively for the phone as a swipe-based card game rather than a port of the PC and Mac release: there is no 3D globe, and the whole trip is played one card at a time in one hand.
